Congratulations to our Citizen of the Year

03/02/2020

Congratulations to the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters’ Citizen of the Year for 2020.

Since 2008, Leslie Dennis, or ‘Les’ as he’s known, has volunteered with Second Chances SA and has made PK Mentoring Camps a reality. During this time, Les has overseen 93 camps through which he’s positively impacted the lives of hundreds of young South Australians who have a parent in prison.

Les’ commitment to PK Mentoring Camps is driven by his passion to support and encourage young people. His commitment, understanding and empathy mean that the camps have a resonating impact on the lives of some of South Australia’s most vulnerable young people, with many transitioning into camp leaders, going on to inspire and mentor the next generation of campers.

Les is a much-loved legend, an endless source of joy and enthusiasm and a positive example to all around him. His selfless dedication to positively impacting the lives of young people make him a worthy recipient of the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters’ 2020 Citizen of the Year Award and an inspirational member of our community.
